How an Artisan Shines Shoes

This video really makes shoe shining out to be an art. Also provides a nice overview of the steps involved in making your shoes shine as good as new.

Steps for a great shoe shine:

  • Brushing (to remove dust)
  • Applying conditioner
  • Applying shoe cream (horsehair brush, again proprietary formula)
  • Brushing to bring out the polish in the cream
  • Buffing to remove every excess of cream
  • Applying wax with a clean cloth
  • Brushing with a slightly wet brush
  • Buffing with damp cloth, to achieve the mirror-shine

By the way, did you know that one of the first things men and women notice about your are your shoes?
