Pinterest is a Virtual Pinboard.

Pinterest is a new social media platform, like Facebook and Twitter, that focuses on sharing fun, unique and inspirational photos.

Users can “pin” images that they stumble upon, which lets them save those photos on their “pinboards” and share them with their friends. Users can also “re-pin” or like other photos that have already been pinned by others by viewing other users pinboards.

Pinterest lets you organize and share all the beautiful things you find on the web. People use pinboards to plan their weddings, decorate their homes, and organize their favorite recipes.

Give it a shot! Even though it’s still in it’s infant stages, there are already thousands of images being shared.

Don’t worry, you’re not the only one who asks, we get this question a lot!

We believe clothing can be considered vintage when it’s older than 20 years. While opinions differ on this number, if it’s been around since the 80′s, it is probably safe to call it vintage.

What once brought up images of your grandmother’s closet, in the past few years has become a creative and stylish way to dress.

The term vintage isn’t exclusive to clothing, it can also be applied to accessories, footwear, furniture, toys and other neat trinkets.

Now, not to get too lost in the details, but if an item was produced before the 1920s, than it’s no longer vintage, but rather an antique. While antiques are great for collecting or displaying in a museum, they’re not so great for wearing.

So, if we want to be technical, any item of clothing that was produced between the 1920s and 1980s is considered vintage.

In case you didn’t know, vintage clothing has started to make a big comeback, and not only for girls, but guys too! I mean honestly, what guy wouldn’t want to sport that 60s look that makes Don Draper and the cast of Mad Men look so suave?!

It has begun to apply to a subculture of people who have a particular love for the styles of  different eras. While some enjoy shopping vintage for the interest in the actual history of the clothes, others prefer it because it offers something that huge chain mall stores can’t, and that’s a greater sense of individuality.

Let’s face it, we’ve all been in that awkward situation where we’ve met someone wearing the exact same outfit as us.

The great thing about vintage clothing is that it’s unique — what are the odds of someone finding that exact same 1960s paisley boho mini dress you found at a vintage shop? Probably not very likely. Shopping vintage really lets you show your true colours, and it doesn’t limit you from a selection of what’s “in fashion”. Rather, you decide what’s in.
